About History
It is an authentic Shochu made using the famous water of the Yufu mountain range and the brewing techniques backed by the company's 1712 history. From this hometown rich in nature, we have been striving to produce Shochu liqueur that cannot be imitated by national brands, and that has the quality of being handmade and the commitment of the brewer. The oldest brewery in Oita has plaster paintings of it's building facade that is registered as the Important Cultural Property which evokes the spirit of Kamakura samurai in the middle age.
Location
Ajimu Machi is a rural town located in the mountainous region of northern Oita Prefecture, within Usa City. Asagiri, hailed as Japan's premier basin landscape, is one of famous landscapes, partly along with cultivation of over 100 varieties of grapes. Local specialties include river fish dishes like soft-shelled turtle and loach; It's also the birthplace of 'karaage'(Japanese style fried chickens). In Ajimu, there is extremely pure water, as symbolized by the Higashi Shinya Waterfall, which has been selected as one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan.
